With 53 days left before the deadline, the DGFiP and AIFE have published a detailed status update: the State's infrastructure is ready for September 1, 2026. Here's a tour of the official figures and milestones.
The technical building blocks are in place
Rollout has been gradual and is now operational:
- Business directory in production, enhanced with bulk lookup (up to 5,000 SIREN at once);
- Declaration service (pilot) in qualification since October 2025, then in real production since February 2026;
- Performance tests on volume carried out successfully: the infrastructure can absorb the full expected traffic;
- Public sector: Chorus Pro as the reference platform, with the technical chain tested and validated.
A fast-growing ecosystem
On the market side, momentum is clear:
- 138 Certified Platforms registered (+30% versus January 2026), 15 in testing, 7 being registered;
- 2 million companies already have a receiving address in the directory;
- 40 Certified Platforms have already transmitted flows from 10,000 issuing companies to 12,000 receiving ones;
- 95 Peppol contracts signed, for near-complete coverage — France has become the number one country by number of registered addresses.
The legal and regulatory framework is being finalised
- The decree and implementing order are expected before the end of summer 2026, followed by the publication of the doctrine;
- The 3 AFNOR standards were updated (June 30 – July 1), incorporating new use cases (bidirectional self-billing) and sector-specific chapters (energy, media, real estate).
Worth remembering: standardisation is a living process, meant to evolve with practice. Regulatory monitoring is an integral part of any e-invoicing project.
